Understanding the Material

What Are Amorphous Alloys?

Amorphous alloys, commonly known as metallic glasses or liquid metals, are a new type of material that possesses the properties of both metals and glasses.

It achieves this by rapidly cooling the molten metal, causing the internal atoms to be unable to arrange themselves in an orderly manner and thus maintaining a disordered structure similar to that of a liquid.

This unique structure endows it with both the high strength of metals and the high elasticity and hardness similar to those of glass.

Crystalline metals form periodic atomic arrangements, while amorphous alloys retain a non-periodic, disordered structure.
Material Performance

A Revolutionary Combination of Properties

The structure of amorphous alloys gives them a revolutionary combination of properties

High Strength

Its strength is often 2-3 times that of ordinary steel, 3 times that of stainless steel, and it has no plastic deformation, ensuring precision in forming and usage dimensions.

High Hardness

The hardness of the liquid metal is very high. After forming, no surface hardening treatment is needed, and the surface hardness can reach 480-520 Hv (equivalent to about 50 HRC), meeting the standard of steel after heat treatment, making it suitable for many applications requiring hardness.

High Elasticity

The elastic limit is far higher than ordinary metals (up to 2%), making it an ideal material for manufacturing high-performance sports equipment such as golf clubs and tennis rackets.

Soft Magnetic Performance

Magnetization and demagnetization are very easy, with extremely low energy loss. When used in transformers, mutual inductors, and inductor cores, it can significantly save energy.

Corrosion Resistance

The structure is uniform, without weak points easily corroded in crystals, and its corrosion resistance is far superior to stainless steel.
